BANGALORE, INDIA, January 5, 2008: The Ramakrishna Math is publishing a concise encyclopedia of Hinduism in April, the head of Bangalore’s branch Swami Harshananda said on Saturday. The encyclopedia will be in three volumes of 1000 pages, priced at Rs 1,000 each. However, as a pre-publication offer, all the three editions will be sold for Rs 1,000 and the booking closes on March 31.
Harshananda said he had been working on this project for the past 33 years and it would cost Rs 3.2 millions. Devotees have donated about Rs 2 millions, he said. The book contains 3500 entries on religion, philosophy, Indus valley civilization, places of worship and pilgrimage.
