COIMBATORE, INDIA, January 19, 2008: Mata Amritanandamayi Devi arrived in Coimbatore on Thursday, to attend the Brahmasthanam Temple festival organised on January 18 and 19 at Nallampalayam. According to a press release, the two-day program will include satsang, bhajans, meditation and darshan, for the benefit of Mata’s devotees. Pujas, Special pujas (Lalita Sahasranama) to mitigate the influences of Rahu and Shani will be conducted from dawn to dusk. Mata Amritanandamayi was accompanied by Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri, Swami Ramakrishnananda Puri, Swami Amritananda Puri, Swami Thuriyamritananda Puri and Swamini Krishnamrita Prana.
On her arrival in Coimbatore, she was received by Brahmachari Abhayamrita Chaitanya, Chief Operating Officer of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Brahmacharini Nirupamamrita Chaitanya, who is in-charge of the Kovai Math. The Rahu dosha nivarana puja is scheduled to be held on January 19 at 7.30 a.m. The Shani dosha nivarana puja will be held at 6.30 p.m., according to the press release. Mata will later proceed to Puducherry. She will visit Chennai for the Brahmasthanam temple festival that is scheduled to be held there on January 23 and 24. In addition to this, Mata Amritanandamayi will also participate in public program at Kumbhakonam on January 26 and Tirunelveli on January 28.
