NEW DELHI, INDIA, September 13, 2008: The VHP’s central governing body will deliberate on ways to further intensify their campaign against religious conversion in Kandhamal, Orissa, and north-eastern states at its two-day brain storming session beginning on 25 September.
About 300 leaders from across the country, Shankaracharya and top VHP leaders will take part in the meeting, VHP sources told The Statesman.
The murder of VHP leader, Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, and four others on 23 August brought to the fore the “loopholes” in the organization’s work against religious conversion, a VHP spokesman said. He also said that VHP was struggling to match the wealthy Christian missionaries.
