NEW YORK, USA, November 28, 2008: Mayor Bloomberg and New Yorkers from all faiths joined Hindus at a special prayer service held at the Hindu Temple Soceity of North America for the victims of the terrorist attack in Mumbai. More than 100 attended the temple in Flushing, NY.
Mayor Bloomberg told worshipers at a Hindu prayer service in Queens Thursday that Mumbai was “another New York” and warned against letting the terrorists win. “We have to make sure we don’t do exactly what the terrorists want us to do,” he said, “and that is walk away from our willingness to help each other, walk away from our dedication to making sure the whole world is open to everybody.”
