BALI, INDONESIA, December 10, 2008: Because of cultural conflicts that resulted in the prohibition of conducting funeral and cremation ceremonies in the village cemetery, the residents of Pasek decided to build a crematorium. It will be available to anyone from any religion and any clan. When completed, the crematorium will be available to all Hindus, including those from outside the island.
Chairman of Bali Chapter of All Indonesian Hindu Union, I. Gusti Ngurah Sudiana has expressed his support for the crematorium. “This is an answer to our recent cultural problem, which will be more appreciated in the future,” said Sudiana.
