CANARY ISLANDS, April 29, 2009: A similar arati ceremony to that performed every day at dusk on the banks of the holy will be done in Tenerife, Canary Islands. It was announced for May 3rd at the La Enramada beach, and HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati has come from India to perform the ceremony organized by the Hindu Association of South Tenerife with the assistance of the government.
The mayor of Adeje expressed his support to the event saying, “We will get a closer look at ancient Hindu spirituality and show that Adeje is an example of peaceful coexistence of different cultures; their beliefs enrich us and help build a more peaceful world.”
