GENEVA, SWITZERLAND, July 25, 2009: This year’s Paleo Festival in Switzerland, from July 21st to 26th, pays tribute to India. Every evening, at sunset, the Tamil priest Gurukal Umashankar of the Lausanne Hindu temple conducts a puja worship ceremony. The festival grounds provide a venue for a dozen internationally known Indian artists to perform.
Sudha Venkat, president of the Indian Association of Geneva, and founder of the local Sanskrit Academy, has organized two events specially for the Village du Monde: the evening puja and Bollywood-style dances. In Switzerland, it is a hit: 35,000 music lovers are attending the festival each day.
