HELENSBURGH, AUSTRALIA, August 10, 2009: Over thirty cultural, spiritual and religious organizations are coming together for Celebration of Ganesha Visarjana, the biggest festival of Hindus in Australia. It is also one of the biggest celebrations of Visarjana outside of India.
The program starts at 9am on August 30 at the Sri Venkateshwara Temple, Temple Rd, Helensburgh. It includes poojas, stalls, cultural programs, foods, children’s activities, music and a procession to Stanwell Park with the final immersion at 3pm at Stanwell Park Beach.
The organizers have also announced a free bus shuttle from the temple to Stanwell Beach, where the ocean will welcome Lord Ganesha at 3pm. The announcement says, “Bring your drums, trumpets and bells for final procession!”
