NEW DELHI, INDIA, November 13, 2009: Countless tourists descended to enjoy the serene surroundings and stupendous architecture of the Akshardham Temple every month, but the average Delhiite, when not on the occasional pilgrimage, stayed away from it just because it took long to get there.

But now things will be different “With a metro station right at our door step, we expect people from Dwarka and Rohini to visit the temple,” said Janakbhai Dave, temple spokesperson. The average attendance at the temple at present is between 6,000 and 7,000. It is about 10,000 on holidays and all numbers are likely to increase.
