KAUAI, HAWAII, June 12, 2007: Hinduism Today, under its parent organization, Saiva Siddhanta Church, has had its comments on the proposed religious worker visa posted on the government’s web site at URL above. Click on the URL, then toward the bottom of the form, optional step 4, select “document title” from “category” and type “religious worker” in the search field, then click “submit.” In the resulting window, click “USCIS-2005-0030” under “Docket ID”, which will take you to a list of the original documents of the rule change issued by the government and a list of all comments submitted to date. Click USCIS-1005-0030-0021.1, “Comment Submitted by Arumugam Katir,” for the Church’s document. Other comments are now posted from the Hindu American Foundation, and a number of Christian groups including the Bible Broadcasting Network.<\/p>\n

Saiva Siddhanta Church was the first Hindu temple in America to receive the “church” designation from the IRS. This occured in 1962.
