It has been two years since the accident and the wounded leg has not healed properly. As a result even though more than US$125,000 has been raised for the pachyderm&#8217;s recovery, the prosthetic foot cannot be fitted until the leg has totally healed. Motola&#8217;s misfortune has brought to everyone&#8217;s attention the plight of Thailand&#8217;s working elephants.
