The community event focused on honoring Kaua&#8217;i, its people and its past. Upcoming events include a Martin Luther King memorial on Monday, along with community events across the island.<BR><br \/>\n<BR><br \/>\nAmong them is &#8220;Gurudeva Day,&#8221; honored by an event from 10 a.m.-noon at Lydgate Park on Saturday, January 24, which focuses on the late Gurudeva, Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami&#8217;s vision of &#8220;Aloha: It&#8217;s Kaua&#8217;i&#8217;s Spirit. One Island, Many Peoples, All Kauaians.&#8221; <BR><br \/>\n<BR><br \/>\nHPI adds: The event is organized by island leaders to give recognition and respect to Gurudeva and Kauai&#8217;s Hindu monastery, valued assets to the community.
