It is estimated that there are now more than 200,000 adherents of Wicca and related &#8220;neopagan&#8221; faiths in the United States. Wiccans often call themselves Witches, using a capital W to distinguish themselves from the word&#8217;s negative associations of Satan worship and malicious magic, or just plain pagans. They tend to be white, middle-class, and highly educated. About a third of them are men.
