Serba Wangi Sdn Bhd has launched &#8220;ecoBrown&#8217;s&#8221; rice which retains vitamins, minerals and proteins. Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Datuk Seri Kerk Choo Ting, who launched the product, said it was a timely move since Malaysians are becoming more health conscious. &#8220;The launch of the brown rice is in tandem with the Government&#8217;s efforts to create a more dynamic food industry. Currently, Malaysia imports brown rice and it is good to see the product being locally produced,&#8221; he said. Kerk said the Government would promote the consumption of brown rice for health reasons. &#8220;Brown rice is healthier compared to white rice as vitamins and minerals are removed when processing white rice,&#8221; he said.
