{"id":6582,"date":"2008-02-08T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-02-08T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hinduismtoday.com\/hpi\/2008\/02\/08\/hinduism-facing-challenge-of-conversion-says-swami\/"},"modified":"2008-02-08T12:00:00","modified_gmt":"2008-02-08T12:00:00","slug":"hinduism-facing-challenge-of-conversion-says-swami","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hinduismtoday.com\/hpi\/2008\/02\/08\/hinduism-facing-challenge-of-conversion-says-swami\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Hinduism Facing Challenge of Conversion,&#8221; Says Swami"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"source\"><a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.newindpress.com\/news.asp?id=IER20080204211207\">www.newindpress.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"summary\">PATHANAMTHITTA, INDIA, February 5, 2008: Head of US-based Kauai Aadheenam, which follows the Nandinatha tradition, Satguru Bodhinatha Veylan Swamigal has said that Hinduism is facing the challenge of unethical conversion by other faiths. <\/p>\n<p>Delivering a discourse after inaugurating the Vidhyadhiraja Cultural Centre at the 96th Ayroor-Cherukolppuzha Hindumatha Parishad at Ayroor-Cherukolppuzha on Monday as reported <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.newindpress.com\/NewsItems.asp?ID=IER20080207214039&#038;Page=R&#038;Title=Kerala&#038;Topic=0\">here<\/a>, Satguru Bodhinatha Veylan Swamigal said that a united and organized movement against unethical conversions should be the need of the hour.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The challenge of conversion is better faced when the Hindus within a country are united,&#8221; the Swami said. &#8220;Malaysia provides a good model of a country in which Hindus are effectively united through an umbrella organization styled Malaysia Hindu Sangam,&#8221; the leader continued.<\/p>\n<p>Recently the Sangam organized rallies against conversion.
