{"id":7944,"date":"2009-06-24T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-06-24T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hinduismtoday.com\/hpi\/2009\/06\/24\/iron-age-graveyard-unearthed\/"},"modified":"2009-06-24T12:00:00","modified_gmt":"2009-06-24T12:00:00","slug":"iron-age-graveyard-unearthed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hinduismtoday.com\/hpi\/2009\/06\/24\/iron-age-graveyard-unearthed\/","title":{"rendered":"Iron Age Graveyard Unearthed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hinduonnet.com\/thehindu\/holnus\/000200906221501.htm\">www.hinduonnet.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>DINDIGUL, INDIA, June 22, 2009: A glass bead-making unit and an Iron Age graveyard, both about 2,500 years old, have been unearthed during the ongoing excavation in and around Porunthal, an archaeology expert said.<\/p>\n<p>The excavation made at Paasi Medu (bead mound) venue, a site spread over 13.5 acres on the ancient East-West Trade route linking Tamil Nadu and Kerala, revealed the presence of a glass bead manufacturing unit, Prof. K.
