The October 18 ceremony, its inaugural worship session, drew more than 300 people who assembled inside.<\/p>\n<p>The temple has been the aspiration of the local Indian community, about 400 families strong, for four years. A committee was formed in 2006 to devise the plans and develop the project, according to Peyush Dwivedi, temple secretary. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the first Hindu temple in the Lowcountry and the fourth in the state.
