Shops in Ayodhya town, the epicenter of the dispute, opened but pulled down their shutters as the verdict approached. Fortunately, the fears did not materialize.<\/p>\n<p>People of both the communities welcomed the judgment. &#8220;The court has been fair to both the Hindus and the Muslims,&#8221; Kundan Lal Sharma, a local businessman, said. His views were echoed by Bilal Akhtar, a cyber-cafe owner. &#8220;We are happy with the court decision and request everyone to maintain peace and harmony.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The administration, however, has no plans to remove the huge battery of forces deployed in the district. &#8221; A decision is yet to be taken,&#8221; district magistrate M. P. Agarwal, said.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in the country, situation remained peaceful.
