GLASGOW, SCOTLAND, (undated): HPI note: This article comes from the website of the British National Party (BNP). Their slogan is “Join us and help win our country back.” Their website (here) says, “Membership of the British National Party is open to those of British or kindred European ethnic descent. While we welcome contact and co-operation with nationalists and patriots of other races, and with the many non-whites who also oppose enforced multi-racialism, we ask them to respect our right to an organisation of our own, for our own, as we respect and applaud their measures to organise themselves in like fashion.” That is why the article is framed in terms of the Labour Party versus BNP. The article is undated, so we don’t know when this incident occurred, nor necessarily how accurate the reporting is.
Article begins:
A popular and long established snack bar in Kelvingrove, Glasgow, faces closure because leaders of a nearby Hindu temple have complained about the smell of the beef burgers. Despite having operated her business well before the current Hindu Mandir temple was converted from an old folks’ centre, Hindu leaders have now complained to Glasgow City Council on the grounds that the cow is sacred to their religion and the smell of cooking beef offends them. Labour Party’s Kelvingrove councillor Dr. Malcolm Green has backed the Hindu’s cause by writing to the licensing committee highlighting their complaint. Snack bar owner Mrs. Elsie McLean fears this will result in her losing her trading license and said, “I just want to make a living.” Many local workers rely on Mrs. McLean’s burger bar for breaks and lunch, but Glasgow City Council have told her to move or face closure. Mrs. McLean said, “I can’t believe the hassle. It’s a nightmare. The temple made a complaint about the food being cooked, but environmental health told me they couldn’t smell anything inside it. The other site that was suggested isn’t suitable.” Temple treasurer Vinod Sharma continued to claim that, “the smell of food was too much” and insisted that the temple want Mrs McLean to move.
Glasgow BNP Organiser Walter Hamilton said, “This is another example of just how far Glasgow City Council and the Labour Party go to appease minority interests. They just don’t care about local people. Mrs McLean was operating here long before the building was converted to a temple and yet the local Labour councillor believes he should back the incomers ahead of local people. Why did they choose this site when they knew the burger bar was already there? They are not playing fair!” The time has come for Glaswegians to bin (ie, trash) the Labour Party and start backing the BNP as the only political party defending working class people in Scotland today. Cllr Green and his colleagues won’t put local people first, but the BNP will.
