USA, May 12, 2026, (Press Release): May is Mental Health Awareness Month — a timely reminder that caring for our mental and emotional well-being is at the heart of how we cope with stress, find meaning, and stay connected to ourselves and our communities. Most of us spend more time on social media than we realize. From endless scrolling of emotionally charged content, online spaces are shaping how we think and feel. Research shows that nearly half of American teens say social media has mostly negative effects on them, with many reporting feelings of stress and pressure from what they see online. For Hindu Americans, these challenges can take additional forms, as conversations around religion, identity, and culture are often oversimplified, distorted, or amplified through emotionally charged online content.
