EDISON, NEW JERSEY, USA, May 10, 2006: Senior Patrolman Allen Sabo has been serving the 100,000 citizens of Edison, and primarily his patrol area of North Edison, since 1977. To Edison police officer Allen Sabo, it’s not about the color of your skin or the religion you choose to practice; he just wants to help. And he’s been doing it for almost 40 years. The senior patrolman and Edison native was recently commended by the Township Council for not only his work in North Edison, but especially for his contributions to the township’s burgeoning Indian community. “I think everybody in Edison knows Al Sabo and, if you don’t, you’re missing out,” said Councilman Anthony Massaro at the April 26 council meeting. “You’re a credit to the community and to the whole concept of being a peace officer.” Last year, Sabo received blessings from Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the vicharan, or spiritual leader of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), a socio-spiritual organization with its roots in the Vedas.
