BOULDER, COLORADO, March 11, 2005: HPI received this press release from Humanity in Unity organization, "source." The following HPI item after this is a Times of India post-event news report.

On Sivaratri, March 8 in Varanasi, India, Her Holiness Chalanda Sai Ma Lakshmi Devi Sri Nithyananda Mayi Ma will be receiving the title of "108 Mahamandleshwar" from the Sadhu Somaj. A 2,000-year-old society of highly-enlightened beings, the Sadhu Somaj is bestowing the title on HH Sai Ma for her unending service to humanity. With this title, HH Sai Ma will be recognized by the Indian Government and have a special seat at the annual Kumbha Mela celebration. HH Sai Ma is a spiritual master and international peace leader who has centers in Boulder and Crestone, Colorado, as well as students around the world.

Dr. Pankaj Naram, a widely-recognized ayurvedic physician who is a personal doctor of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, calls the March 8 ceremony "...one of the biggest events of the world." According to Dr. Naram, the title of "108 Mahamandleshwar," which means 'head of many Ashrams,' has rarely been given to a woman. It is also rarely given to someone outside India. HH Sai Ma, a French citizen and part-time US resident, is increasingly becoming known worldwide as an embodiment of the divine feminine principle, and says, "I am surprised to be recognized with such high honors by so many enlightened swamis and masters."

Dr. Naram shares that the title of "108 Mahamandleshwar" is being given to HH Sai Ma because she brings people into enlightenment quickly and imparts mystical experiences to those who have already attained a high state of enlightenment. Through the not-for-profit organization she founded, Humanity In Unity (HIU), HIU and HH Sai Ma have initiated and supported projects that bring food to the hungry and homeless, education to disempowered women and children, and support for those living with HIV/AIDS.

On January 27, HH Sai Mai received the titles of "Her Holiness" and "Master of Enlightenment" from the Chancellor of the Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya University at the International Vedic Conference in Hardiwar, India. A Scroll of Honor given to her states, "We feel blessed to find amidst ourselves Her Holiness Lakshmi Devi Chalanda Sai Ma, who has taken the flag of Vedic religion, philosophy and culture to America and Western countries and given the message of holy rishis to the world."

On March 8, at the Shri Satuwa Baba Ashram in Varanasi, India, 92-year-old Anant Shri Vibhushit Jagatguru Shri Vishnu Swami Yamunacharyaji Maharaj Satuwa Baba, or Satuwa Baba, will bestow the title of "108 Mahamandleshwar" upon HH Sai Ma. Satuwa Baba has invited 400 to 500 sadhus to perform a special ceremony, and numerous Sanskrit scholars, pandits, swamis, masters, teachers, yogis, and shastris will also be in attendance.
